Proprietary to Open Source, An Example

Dale Churchett, a former colleague at Excite (and a good friend), has posted a blog entry entitled "From Proprietary to Open Source and Experiences Along The Way". Dale is the project lead for Hippikon, an open source authorization API for Java applications. He writes about his experience open sourcing proprietary code for the creation of Hippikon.

Dale's article should be of interest to anyone considering a similar move, or interested in this growing practice.
